Sweet Ocarina and The Ride Into Battle

Recently, I was asked for two more commissioned paintings for a lovely couple. I absolutely love the video game/ comic book/ sci-fi themed requests lately. I had a lot of fun with these, especially link:)

Her exact request was "Batman riding my cat holding a Sonic Screwdriver." Awesome.

And he wanted Link and Navi from Legend of Zelda

And there they are! They absolutely loved them:)
Paintings made specifically for someone are my favorite, I love commission paintings!
They can all be found on my Etsy Shop

Little White Elephant

I absolutely love idioms and metaphors. My newest painting is based off one of my favorites "White elephant in the room"

Starting off with an idea..

Moving into a painting..

And we have that white Elephant!

And something new I've started, every purchased painting comes with a matching finger puppet!

On sale now on my Etsy shop now.

The Dark Knight Rises (Painting)

Hello friends!
About a week ago, I received a commissioned painting request for "The scene in Batman where Bane breaks his back"
Needless to say, I was SO excited for this one!
So I got started with a Sketch right away

And painted a background. I knew I wanted a dark background so I went with brown, green and red

Spent a lot of time on Bane's mask and muscular arms (I love that mask)

And now that Bane is finished, I can focus on Batman

I didn't want Batman to be a big, black blob so I added a lot of blues

And there you have it! This one was a lot of fun (HUGE Batman fan) and I love that I got to play around with the old comic book style "Krakt!"
Perfect for a kid's room or big fan like my customer!

The Little Prince

The Little Prince is one of my absolute favorite stories. I'm definitely in the minority in that I had never read it as a child, I really hadn't read it until I was about 16. But that also shows that this story can speak to any age group.

The part with the fox is my absolute favorite.

“I am looking for friends. What does that mean -- tame?"

"It is an act too often neglected," said the fox. "It means to establish ties."

"To establish ties?"

"Just that," said the fox. "To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world....”

That is just so incredibly beautiful. Anyway, this is how I spent my lazy Thursday afternoon.
